Grades Four, Five, and Transitional Sixth are combined into our Bob Cats program. Students learn Greek and Latin roots; they also study three- and four-syllable words, many containing the Greek and Latin roots, and apply them in a variety of contexts. Fourth Grade students expand and manipulate the different types of paragraphs they learned to write in Grade Three. Fifth and Transitional Sixth Grade students combine paragraphs into cohesive essays. Students read complex nonfiction and novels. They annotate texts, seek definitions for new vocabulary, and compare notes and ideas.
